Fitness Classes and Coaching after 50!

Strength, Flexibility, Balance & Aliveness For Your Body, Mind & Spirit

 Youthful Hearts 50+ exercise classes are held in Marin County, California at the Margaret Todd Senior Center in Novato, and also on Zoom. Unfortunately, after 26 years, I’m no longer teaching at the San Rafael Community Center. Currently, my classes are meeting on Zoom on Mondays and Thursdays each week, and in-person on Tuesdays in Novato, CA.  We’re having a great time together!  If you’d like more info about my live-streaming fitness classes on Zoom or my upcoming in-person classes, contact me here.     Feel great, live better and maintain your ability to take care of yourself as you grow older! This class helps to develop the many aspects of functional fitness necessary for aging well, including balance, mobility, strength, flexibility, brain health, and self-acceptance. The strength exercises are done using hand weights, body weight and elastic bands. Modifications are shown for those with certain limitations. Taught with compassion and kindness, you’ll be inspired to care for yourself in a safe and well-rounded way.  Let go of focusing on what you can’t do and enjoy exploring what you CAN do! Deep breathing and relaxation are emphasized to help with stress release. Become strong and happy!

    Chair Exercise (Virtual class on Zoom)
    12:45pm – 1:30pm
    Join us for this gentle, unique exercise program that blends elements of Qigong, yoga, non-impact aerobics, and meditation all done while sitting in a chair. This class is ideal for you if you are new to exercise or have a physical challenge such as limited mobility that prevents you from doing conventional exercise. It is a fun, convenient, energetic way to burn calories, improve muscle tone, manage blood sugar levels, increase range of motion, lower stress and feel better all over in your body. Everyone is welcome, including those who need a wheelchair, walker or cane.
