Neuroplastic Brain at Every Age

What do you think would happen if you tried to ride a bicycle that had been designed to go right when you steer left, and go left when you steer right?  This awesome video demonstrates so effectively why I am passionate about including brain health exercises in my 50+ fitness programs. We humans can get very set in our ways and be on autopilot as we get older.

As a result,  we’re likely to create diminished mental capabilities. Fortunately, our brains remain “plastic”  even into adulthood.  Challenge your brain often to keep it stimulated and functioning well. Give yourself permission to feel awkward at first when trying new activities. The key is to stick with it (don’t give up when you feel uncoordinated!) so your brain establishes new neural pathways and strengthens pathways that were established when you were younger. You CAN improve your brain at every age!
